19th February 2013 Warrington Anglers association Guardian Notes

19th February 2013 Warrington Anglers Association Guardian Notes.

Karl Nicholls enjoyed a busy afternoons session at Preston Brook last week and had a 20-3-0 mixed net of skimmers, roach, perch, and gudgeon. He fished both the pole at 13metres and a 4metre whip using caster, maggot, and bread punch feeding liquidised bread. Karl is looking for interested anglers to go across to Ireland and fish the Carrick Festival. If you email me I will put anyone in touch.

One of our members had a short session on the Dane on Monday following being thwarted on Friday by Zambezi like flood conditions and a couple of blanks. Anyway in less than perfect conditions he winkled out a brace of chub, both over 3lbs on 14mm savoury spice boilie wrapped in Krill paste; what fish could refuse such an offering. He also reports that the carp park area at the bottom of the hill is rather muddy so go careful if you visit this weekend.

You simply cannot credit it following last weeks absolutely abysmal Disabled & Over 60's match result on the Bridgewater where ounces made the frame, well this week on the Dead Length you had to have at least 3lbs plus to be in with a shout. Even winner Geoff Brooks chose his moment to rise from his sick-bed and produce a superb net of roach and skimmers for 6-0-10 which were all taken on pole-fished punch bread or caster. Match organiser John Dagnall was even back in the frame in fourth place using his very own rigs and passing the banned substances test to boot. Twenty one hardy souls turned out.

Young up and coming match star Adam Harman won our Saturday Flyer with a nice net of roach and skimmers for 5-9-4 from the Bridgewater Canal at our Daresbury stretch. He fished bread punch at 12metres and enjoyed a comfortable 2lbs margin over second places Phil Cross.
