30th November 2021 Warrington Anglers Association Guardian Notes

Jimmy Byrne was the winner of this week's Mersey Match by a big margin of over 9.5lbs. He drew peg 71 which is not a known dolly peg by any means but he persevered with a small groundbait feeder and white maggot at only 10metres. He only had two small roach after two or three hours but eventually the tip went round and it was bream-time. He added two bream and a skimmer to his roach brace, biggest bream was over 5lbs giving him a winning weight of 10-13-0. Ray Boden also fished the tip and took second place after his only bite of the day produced a hybrid of 1-4-0. As you can imagine there were a few dry nets in the winter conditions. Fourteen anglers fished.

Our Disabled & Over 60's Monday match this week was supposed to be on the Bridgewater Canal at Walton but the canal was iced over and members made a unanimous decision to call it off.

The online renewals for both 2022 memberships and night permits are now live plus all current rules can be accessed from our homepage.

The Cicily Mill Pool volunteers are out again this week continuing with weed removal around pegs, and general improvements. Anyone who cannot fish it after these guys efforts it may be time to think about adapting their methods.
