At our management committee meeting on Monday it was decided to reinstate night fishing at Appleton Reservoir on a trial basis commencing after a clean-up and bank clearance commencing 10am on Saturday 27th May, 2017. Only those volunteers attending the working party will be allowed to fish that night.
Neil Plunkett enjoyed his two sessions on Warrington Anglers waters last week starting at The Mount where armed with his favourite boilies, PVA bags, and bite alarms he landed two carp, a mirror and a common, both upper doubles. The next day saw Neil at Woodshaw Reservoir where he caught sixteen crucians on the tip using a method feeder plus half a dozen roach and a bream taken later on the float. Some of the crucians were well over 2lbs.
Ben Stringer fished a method feeder at Rixton Claypits last Thursday with dead maggot on the hook and caught eleven bream and seven tench both species ranging around the two to three pound mark. He lost a fair sized carp at the net after playing it for twenty minutes.
Our Disabled & Over 60's match on Monday was won by Bud Legh with 6-6-0 that included a bonus bream of around 3lbs to boost his net of small roach. Peter Davies was second and also included a bonus bream that was weighed at 3.5lbs added to his roach catch of over a pound. Bread and pinkie accounted for most catches.
I am urgently looking for a member who is a surveyor that is willing to help our club by producing several drawings relating to the access dispute on our stretch of the River Wye. Hopefully if acceptable to all parties it may offer a potential access solution. Anybody out there please get in touch.
